We are living in the golden age of armchair travel. What?! There’s nothing in my cheek, really. Most of us long to go somewhere, especially after the last two years. But, thanks to the internet, we can go to museums or see concerts or plays or go to various arts festivals, from the comfort of home.
I’ve been thinking about escape a lot lately. I think a lot of us have. If I was able to swing it financially and with no covid in the air, I would go see NYC again.
I haven’t been to NYC since 2006, but I can still visit the Met www.metmuseum.org/...
The Guggenheim joyofmuseums.com/…
Watch a Broadway play newyork.cbslocal.com/…
Go to a concert nycliverock.com
If you wanted to come to my city, Portland (Not a burning pile of rubble)
Go to Powells’s Books www.powells.com/...
Go to the Sundance Film Festival- www.sundance.org/…
Go on a safari www.asiliaafrica.com/…
See the Great Barrier Reef attenboroughsreef.com/...
Being without internet for over a year and a half was brutally difficult and I would not wish that kind of isolation on anyone (I’m more convinced than ever solitary confinement is torture)
So, where would you go?
And WYFP?
