WYFP - A Quiet New Year

It’s been quiet for me so far this year — no major blowouts or anything yet to shake my worldview, but it’s just a matter of time.  But for the moment I am holding on all fronts.  I check on the fish a couple of times this month, but not too many, and we will start having weekly meetings once the semester starts again.

I skipped all the superstition foods this year, I just didn’t have the spoons to deal with people and pork, so I stayed home. So I guess we shall see if those are necessary to a successful year.  I do want to spend some time with Mum working on art though, so that’s something to look forward to I guess.

I have some art supplies she got me for winter holiday, so I could give that a go, it seems I missed all the game sales this year, so oh well.  Good old Epic games gives away something new every week, so it’s not like I have no options.

My application is coming along slowly, I need to get my third letter clenched so I can finish the rest, and turn it in.  I *just* squeaked by with the GPA requirements for grad school, so I shouldn’t need a waiver, and I can just hope and pray that things go well.  And call my therapist a lot.

I got a massage on Thursday, and it was, pretty interesting.  I went to a chain, Massage Envy, and had a very nice man named Shawn who worked my back over for an hour.  It hurt like hell, and I felt a lot better afterwards.  I might actually see if I can swing a monthly membership, simply to get one of those every month.  Basically he said my back was one big hotspot full of hotspots.  He wants me to come once a week, but even at the discounted member rate of $70 an hour I can’t afford it on a fixed income. But I sure would like to. LOL Here’s hoping for one of those sweet university jobs.

Other than that, not much is going on.  My outdoor critters are eating every night, I have a little extra food money thanks to my medicare advantage plan, my cats are happy and sassy.  I just need to win the lottery or get a decent amount of student loans for grad school to get back on an even keel. But I won’t see any of that until after the new FAFSA comes out, (I think it might be soon) and I’m in school in the fall.
