Appeal for my wife and I,
and our nephew:
I no longer work outside our home,
and my wife, Tonia, is on disability,
so, all we have coming in, as income,
is her disability check,
and my "old man" check.
We live with my wife's brother, and his wife, and their two children,
our niece, who is three years old,
and who takes over the house,
as much as she can,
and our nephew,
who is about to graduate from high school.
My wife and I would like to have a little extra money,
as a cushion, and:
My nephew needs some money, for a great college education.
I say great, because my nephew has great parents,
my brother-in-law and his wife,
who keep reminding him, their son,
day after day,
to maintain a certain level of discipline,
do the hard work,
and forge ahead in life.
With that kind of support and guidance,
and his high school grades of 3.8 average,
he will almost certainly do great things with his college education.
What kind of things will he do?
My nephew is creating computer games.
Do you realize what kind of success is possible in developing computer games?
Minecraft was created, as a goofy world of everything square,
and, some years later,
one of the big companies bought it for two billion dollars.
Two billion dollars.
My nephew has competed in a local game creating contest,
called ICT Game Jam,
here in Wichita, Kansas,
and he nearly got first prize,
coming in second place.
By the way,
everyone in this house, besides me, is a black American.
To visualize my nephew,
he is six feet tall,
very slender,
and a handsome face,
like a very young Obama.
To remind you about my wife and I,
I am about to turn 65 years old, this summer,
and my wife, Tonia, is about to turn 50, in May.
I have no severe disability,
but my stamina has gone down hill, a lot,
in the last few years.
I had to quit working at Walmart,
for two reasons:
I could no longer work a full day, because simply walking from the back of the store to the front,
and then back again,
several times a day,
had me worn out.
The second reason, an even bigger reason,
is that my wife, Tonia, has become, gradually,
more and more disabled,
and she needs my help with basic functions,
pretty much every few hours,
at any time of the night or day.
So, here we are,
the very disabled wife,
who needs help all the time,
the elderly, wimpy, not so energetic husband,
dutifully doing his duties,
and the very demanding three year old niece,
who we sometimes must take care of,
when her parents need to do some chore without her,
and the teenage nephew,
charging ahead in life,
graduating high school soon,
and heading into a great college education.
So, pick your reason to chip in with some money:
Help the elderly, (me).
Help the disabled, (my wife, Tonia).
Help the young man with his college fund, (our nephew).

( The money already raised on that GoFundMe page, the $2,967
has already been spent,
more than a year ago,
so,
please treat this as a new fundraising project.)
