Once worked with a real weasel of a boss - wanted to sell me an old Peugeot even though I knew it would be a serious pain in the ass in terms of servicing and parts, but he thought I was stupid enough to buy it because I needed a car. That this happened in the first week on the job certainly made it clear how much of a sociopath he could be. Wage slavery made me think I could forego other life matters and move to the East. Turns out it was even more complicated, as every job has been and how I tried to explain it in yesterday's Skype interview - that almost every place I have had a full-time job, I tended to get hired by places undergoing management changes whether they knew it or not - and of course the culture couldn't adjust or adjust quickly - or in some cases I had to do it with little or no resources, much like the recent foray into Texas. OTOH there's always working retail except that having worked several times for hourly wages between $1.25 in high school to $25 as an adult, the latter is few and far between these days.
