I still haven’t sold the boat. I am in the process of getting ready to move, however. I think the boat will be easier to sell empty than with me living in the middle of it. That’s what I tell myself anyway.
Today I went to storage and went through 4 large boxes of items. I started a trash bag, and made a box for goodwill. My hope is over the next week or so to go through everything in storage that is mine and minimize the excess away.
I’m flying over Memorial Day weekend to my Mum’s house, where we will be moving furniture and sorting things currently in my room to sell or donate. We also have to move my bed from my Gran’s trailer to the house — the truck will come in handy for that. Once we get all that done I will think about driving home in the truck — Nigel will stay by friends while I am away from the boat.
I’ll have a 3 day drive back to Oregon, then I can go on and sell the car and see just how much will actually fit in the truck. I know I can get rid of at least one more box of crap, just a matter of sorting through everything and that takes energy and time.
My Dad lives in a nursing home after a massive stroke, and he’s been there for 2 years. Mum has been visiting him pretty much every day since it happened. Turns out — that’s too much social time as far as he is concerned. So after having discussed it between themselves, Mum is only visiting every other day now. It’s important to respect another persons space.
